About us

Nestled within a former family estate on the hills of Menton,

Maison Fornari is a stone house built 140 years ago by Antoine Martel, an ancestor of the current owners.

It is still owned today by his descendants, the Martel and Fornari families.

The name Fornari is also deeply rooted in the history of Menton: a square in the historic town center bears this name, in tribute to two generations of doctors from the family who devoted their lives to caring for and supporting many local residents over the years.

Access to the house is on foot only, via an old stone path and a traditional “pas d’âne” staircase, typical of the terraced gardens of the region.

Allow approximately 3 to 5 minutes of walking from the gate, for a true step outside of time. Surrounded by lemon trees, acacias, a wisteria and a rose bush over 100 years old, the house welcomes you in a warm and authentic atmosphere.

Natural materials, carefully curated décor and a sunny terrace make this place a peaceful haven, ideal for reconnecting with what truly matters.

Deeply attached to our region, we are happy to share our local tips to help make your stay as gentle and memorable as possible.

Welcome to Maison Fornari.
